The planning committee is working on a rich program of cutting edge technologies to every day basics. BioImages will again be digital with online submissions and we will have a post meeting workshop within the beautiful Acadia National Park.

Please get involved by entering BioImages, helping the planning committee, presenting a talk, participating in "Show Us Your Stuff" or "Infoshare". The Speakers and Workshops Abstract form is located to the right.

COA's newest dormsBIOCOMM 2012 will be a unique experience for everyone. We have reserved COA's newest dormitories that are more like condos. That will allow everyone to stay on campus and close to the action! You can also make reservations at any of the hotels, motels or campgrounds located on the island if you prefer. Breakfasts and lunches will be in the COA's dining hall with fresh food coming from local and sustainable farms.

College of the Atlantic

College of the Atlantic's oceanfront campus

The College of the Atlantic (COA) is an oceanfront campus with a unique mix of 19th century seaside estates side by side with 21st century sustainable technology and design. Surrounded by the mountains, islands and trails of Acadia National Park, the COA grounds include terraced gardens, a cobble beach and pier, the Ethel H. Blum Gallery, the George B. Dorr Natural History Museum and numerous quiet spaces to sit and watch the sea. COA is just a short walk from the shopping, dining and sights of downtown Bar Harbor.

Bar Harbor, Maine

People have been drawn to the rugged coast of Maine throughout history. Awed by its beauty and diversity the land that became Acadia National Park is home to many plants and animals, and the tallest mountain on the U.S. Atlantic coast. Today visitors come to Acadia to hike granite peaks, bike historic carriage roads, or relax and enjoy the scenery.
