Saturday afternoon and evening sunset shoot will be from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Those who can hike will go to the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. Non-hikers will go to another location in Arches National Park. Sunsets are at 8:30 pm.

Sunday morning we plan to do a sunrise shoot at Canyonlands National Park. Sunrises are at 6:30 am. (Allow extra time to get on location for sunrises!) Sunday morning we would need to leave the hotel at 5:00 am. We will depart from the park around 8:00 am.

Flights

If you depart Canyonlands National Park by 8:00 am, you can be at the Salt Lake City airport around 1:00 pm.

If you plan to fly from Grand Junction, CO, you can make it to the airport in about 2 hours.

What To Bring

Food and spending money as there's lots of good shopping in Moab.

Plan for comfortable clothes for walking and sturdy walking, running or hiking shoes. Be sure to have sunscreen and a hat. Morning temperatures can be cool so a light jacket or polar fleece might feel good. Daytime temperatures will be very hot so we will spend that time in the classroom in order to stay out of the sun.

As you can see from the above schedule, we'll spend the morning in the field and then not return to the field until later in the afternoon.

If you like hot tubs they have good one and a pool at the Moab Valley Inn so don’t forget your bathing suit!

The most useful equipment after the camera body, I carry a wide angle zoom (17mm-35mm), mid-range zoom (24mm-70mm), telephoto zoom (70mm-300mm), tripod and cable release, and polarizing filters.
