BCA News: Fall 2021
Great changes are afoot with BCA. The new BioImages was recently launched. There are now more prizes and more prize money. The entry categories have been streamlined and reduced to make entering clearer and easier. There is an incentive for BCA members to submit with our new member benefit of two free entries. You have until September 30 to submit your entries.
The new web site is on the way to completion with the first module of BioImages being released. It is great to have that contained within our own web development rather than an external organization. Stay tuned for further developments and updates to the web site.
With COVID-19 still a looming threat to our health, the annual in-person BIOCOMM meeting has been moved from May to October. The new dates are 10-14 October, 2022 inclusive. The meeting will run from 10-13 October with the post meeting workshop on the 14th October. Please get in contact with our Director Conferences if you would like to present at next years meeting.
Virtual BIOCOMM has been running throughout 2021 with a Zoom meeting presentation each month of the year. Join us on September 28 when Dr. Maja Divjak takes us on a tour of Biomedical Animation and then on October 26 Connie Johansen will talk to us about Documenting Biofluorescence in Marine Animals.
The BCA executive and team of Directors continue working throughout the pandemic to support and further our organization. This is reflected in the changes and updates we keep delivering to the membership. Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome. Don't hesitate in contacting me with your thoughts.
