BCA News: Spring 2017
A gallery opening was held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 showcasing over 30 photographic images produce by Adam Cooper, RBP, FBCA. The gallerist at the Green River Gallery in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, NY contacted Adam to open a new expanded space in the building. Cold Spring Harbor is a quaint little village on the north shore of Long Island, with boutique shops, restaurants and boating. Adam was excited to be represented for the first time in a gallery and prepared over 30 images for the gallery.
Growing up just a few miles away from Cold Spring Harbor, Adam spent many weekends in Cold Spring Harbor with his friends, riding their bicycles there, so it was very exciting for him to be in a gallery there. Many images were produced on BCA workshops over the past 10-15 years. Some images were from a recent trip to Europe. Adam produced glicee prints in two sizes, 8x10, with an approximately 5x7 image and 11x14 with approximately 8x10 image. Each print was signed and framed.
The opening was held from 12 to 5pm with a steady stream of interested viewers. In the materials promoting the event, it was noted that Adam will donate a portion of the proceeds to one of the hospitals in the Northwell Health system, Huntington Hospital, which is about 2 miles from the gallery. The prints will be available at the gallery through December 2017.
Many friends, family and colleagues came to see and purchase the images, thereby helping out Huntington Hospital, including the Executive Director of the hospital and the Senior Vice President of the Health System.
