BIOCOMM 2020 is shaping up to be an exciting and dynamic meeting. The program is full of educational workshops and presentations. Have a peek at the program, abstracts and speakers' biographies to get a taste of what's in store at the meeting. The meeting is set in a great location at the Drury Inn right in the center of Santa Fe, close to downtown art galleries and shopping.
We will be running a Tintype workshop with Will Wilson our Maria Ikenberg Lindberg keynote speaker on Tuesday, June 19 before the opening reception and BioImages Awards Ceremony. Join us for the afternoon activities, and then meet up with fellow meeting participants at the opening reception. We have a very full program this year there will be more workshops throughout the meeting program and they are all included in your registration fee.
The academic program starts Wednesday morning with our Maria Ikenberg Lindberg keynote speaker, Will Wilson. For background information on Will check out his website. The diverse range of topics on offer at this year's conference will keep you stimulated and motivated. If you want to learn more about looking at photography with fresh eyes, we have a workshop for that. Do you know how to use a microscope? We have a hands on workshop in Brightfield/Darkfield Photomicroscopy? Finally learn the nuts and bolts of how to create a short you tube video, from the initial storyboard through the execution of filming to the final editing in the 3-part DSLR Video Workshop.
The diversity of our presentations will leave you feeling amazed at the variety of scientific and medical imaging that our colleagues are utilizing. Just a few of the presentations on offer during the week are Forensics, Clinical Infrared, Biofluorescence, High Dynamic Range and Reflectance Transformation Imaging. We will finish up the academic program with this year's Anne Shiras Pioneer Members Lecturer, Gale Spring, FBCA.
On Friday evening we have the honors banquet a great place to relax and catch up with your fellow meeting participants, this is included with your registration fee. If you are not attending the Post-Conference Workshop this is a chance to get in some final networking. Register for the meeting.
Directly following BIOCOMM 2020 there will be a Post-Conference Workshop. Continue the networking with colleagues in a more relaxed and informal atmosphere, while still continuing to reap the educational benefits of photography in the field.
Saturday morning we will travel in convoy to Ghost Ranch and Abiquiu. We will tour Georgia O'Keefe's home and studio and photograph in these exquisite stunning landscape locations. There is an additional fee for this workshop. Read more about the Post-Conference Workshop.
BIOCOMM 2020 will be held at the historic Drury Plaza Hotel located in the heart of downtown in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Be sure and use the link on the Registration page to make your reservation with the Drury Plaza Hotel so you get the group rate. The room rate is $149.00 with breakfast included, along with the 5:30 – 7pm kickback with snacks and drinks. We have secured a great deal on car parking at only $10.00 per night and free wi-fi.
