BioImages is the BioCommunications Association’s annual visual media competition, showcasing the finest still images, illustration and graphic media, as well as interactive and motion media work in the life sciences and medicine. To be included in BioImages, submissions are evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges for Intent, Design, Execution and Impact. The Exhibition includes content selected from ten categories in three divisions.
More than $2500 in cash awards are given annually including a $750 Best of Show Award accompanied by a one year free membership to the BCA. Images that are selected for inclusion are designated as Merit Awards. Other category awards include Premier Award, Image of Excellence and Image of Distinction. Winners will be announced this year in May during BIOCOMM 2025 in Tucson, Arizona, US. All selected photographs, graphic design work, and illustrations are displayed on the BCA web site in the BioImages Gallery except images where confidentiality agreements preclude the ability to share publicly.
