BPA nostalgia

,

Stephanie, daughter of George Tanis, is asking if anyone would like her father's four vintage BPA NY chapter mugs from the 70s. She is happy to mail them to anyone who wants them. If you would like to get in contact with her, email me at office@bca.org.
Finding these mugs brought back nice memories of her life as a child going to BPA conventions. Here is what she wanted to share:
George Tanis, New York chapter president, RBP, FBPA
My dad was George Tanis. He lived in NJ, but all his mugs are from the NY chapter. He worked in NYC hospitals his whole career (Montefiore, Columbia Presbyterian, the VA and maybe 1-2 others). The person who brought him in was RoseMarie (real name) Rosemary (what people called her) Spitalarie. I grew up going to summer BPA conventions all over the country. Boston 1980, Scottsdale 1975, Toronto, San Diego, Albuquerque, etc. - and making B&W prints of various specimens in his hospital photo lab. My how things have changed.
I did find a daughter of one of his BPA friends (Fran Caliendo) near me in Boston, and I put a BPA mug in her mailbox. They are so vintage.
Early in his career he made the front cover of Industrial Photography. Dad, of course, is the cameraman. But photography was his life’s work. Right down to his Nikon photo micrography Small World winner wall calendar.
