Daisy in Flower
Nov 16, 2021
Lumen prints are made with black and white paper yet as in the case of this image of a Daisy in flower - they can exhibit vivid colour. The specimen was sandwiched between fibre based photographic paper and a glass plate and was exposed for several hours to bright sunlight.
PURPOSE
I was fascinated that the lumen print process can produce colour from black and white paper and I wanted to see this for myself.
EQUIPMENT / TECHNIQUE
Lumen Print - specimen sandwiched between glass and black and white paper.

“I kept going back to this image because of its uniqueness and unusual way of photographing a common object. I have not been exposed to lumen prints, and thought it was very interesting to return to an old source of photography that is a scientific process that yields an artistic result.” - Teri Zgoda
