A conceptual, inner space landscape of emphysemic alveoli, highlighting collapsed bronchioles and damaged alveolar air sacs characterized by emphysema. The inner walls of the alveoli air sacs rupture and create enlarged air sacs, resulting in inefficient oxygen exchange and diminished respiration.

Purpose
Temple Health Lung Center is a national leader in diagnosing and treating lung disease, and it is pioneering new treatments for emphysema. SteegeThomson Communications engaged the artist to create a conceptual illustration of emphysemic changes in alveoli for marketing purposes to the medical community. The image will be used on it annual publication, its website and marketing materials.
