The tenOever Lab at NYU endeavors to help people understand their core practice of Biology through Virology. Battling viruses may be complicated and require specialized knowledge and training, but it is possible for everyone to have a better understanding of what is happening, how virologists like the tenOever lab respond to their work, and how they are helping to make the world a better place. Created with a lay audience in mind, "Heroes of Bioscience: The Immune System" aspires to educate non-experts about our immune system in an engaging and approachable manner.

Purpose
The animation was created for the tenOever Lab and their Virus Ninja Program. "Virus Ninja" is the long-time nickname of Dr. TenOever, and it's a fun way that the lab thinks about their outreach efforts beyond the lab. While science, in its purest and most advanced forms, is complicated, part of the impact of their research is in connecting it with the rest of the world. This program is about providing the general public with the information and tools to understand tenOever Lab's work and its impacts so they can, either by working with researchers or in their own places and ways, wage a winning battle against viruses and the negative impacts that viruses have on the world. The animation is displayed on the outreach page of the tenOever website.
