With the advent of the Petri dish and the use of Agar in the 1880’s, the Agar plates are the most popular methods for growing microorganisms. In this instance the plates were being used in research on Anti Microbial Resistance (AMR).

Purpose
This photograph was part of a commission for University College London (UCL) to show various researchers at work; researching Anti Microbeal Resistance (AMR) to be used in various web publications designed to raise awareness of AMR's audience: patients; staff; public and stakeholders.
