Brazilian Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery (SBACV)

,

In Brazil, we launched an educational campaign for 2025 with the Brazilian Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery (SBACV), targeting the new generation of angiologists and vascular surgeons. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness, guide, encourage and support all physicians in this society and beyond to adopt the routine of making photographic medical records of their patients' clinical and surgical conditions. In Brazil, this practice is optional and not mandatory; it is already practiced by other specialties in their medical routines, such as dermatology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology and dentistry. Our actions began with the publication of our article with this content in the official journal of this society (Jornal SBACV Notícias; Edition 09 - October/2024; Article 09 "Medical Documentation"). We plan to continue this campaign throughout the year with presentations at medical meetings of members at congresses, seminars, and other events, and courses for training associates in techinical pratice for this. . We have also formed and I will coordinate a special committee to develop a protocol of technical standardization and systematization photographic documentation in this area that is appropriate and specific to angiology and vascular surgery, from diagnosis to post-operative follow-up and clinical evolution. We are proud and happy to apply the knowledge we have acquired in this honorable society, the BCA.
